    We started attending Purler Wrestling Academy around 2009 after hearing about Nick’s ability as a coach, the quality of his room, and his positive, common-sense approach to success in wrestling. At the time, I had no idea how deeply connected he was within the college wrestling community.


    As high school progressed and we narrowed down colleges of interest, Nick provided advice, insight, and most importantly, helped us network with college coaches he knew. In 2016, my son graduated high school as a 3-time Missouri state champion and went on to attend the college of his dreams, the University of North Carolina.


    None of this was accidental. Without meeting Nick Purler in 2009, and without his technical expertise, influence, and contacts within the college wrestling community, little of the success my son has achieved to date would have happened.

    3x NCAA Qualifier for Mizzou · Class of 2019

    Purler Wrestling has been a key part of my son Noah Surtin’s wrestling journey since he was eleven. The Purler system provides focused drilling, detailed instruction, and coaches who are always willing to help in season and out.


    One moment that stands out came after Noah lost 10–0 to an opponent at the Cadet National Duals in 2017. Nick heard about it and invited him to the camp site during lunch. Nick, Trevor, and Noah worked on strategies to handle that opponent’s strengths.


    Just three weeks later, Noah earned a tech fall over that same wrestler in the Fargo semifinals and went on to win Fargo. That helped open the door to major college opportunities and eventually led him to the University of Missouri.
