Purler Wrestling Competition Camp

Purler Wrestling Competition Camp 2018-02-12T10:54:43+00:00

Attack your weaknesses at our competition camps.  You’ll have access to a wide variety of very competitive partners and engage in many hours of professionally led hard drilling that will lead to confidence on the mat.

We provide nearly 10 HOURS of training of which over 5 HOURS is live wrestling with top partners from across the nation.  That’s 240 minutes of live wrestling, which is over 40 matches worth of live wrestling with our two-day camp option (based on the 6 minute match time)!

Over time, I think this camp will grow into quite an opportunity as kids can get 40 matches worth of live wrestling for 1/3 – 1/4 the cost of going to a so called ‘national’ wrestling tournament…where you get 12-20 minutes of wrestling spread over the 30 hours spent in the gym.   On top of this, we expect to draw the top kids in the USA so that you won’t have to wait till the semis in order to tap into those nationally renown athletes….my goal is to have top partners wall to wall.

Parents at Camp

Parents may watch the final practice on Sunday only. For safety and liability reasons, as well as, our ability to provide a distraction FREE camp for your kids, we cannot have parents in the facilities, the wrestling area, shower rooms, bunk houses, etc. Your understanding and cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Meals

Please feed your kids a late breakfast/early lunch on Saturday. We push back times on Day 1 as a way to save many of our athletes’ parents from needing to buy a hotel on Friday night and allow them to drive in on Saturday.  We will provide a late lunch and dinner on Saturday, as well as, breakfast and lunch on Sunday. Three day camp gets dinner Sunday night and a breakfast on the last day.

No Snacks Please

We offer a concession stand and every item is priced at $2 for snack items, and $3 for meal type food items (Hot Pockets, Burritos, etc.). NO food or drinks allowed inside the bunk houses or outside of the designated area in the wrestling room. We need to maintain a clean environment for the wrestlers and do not have storage areas for snacks in the bunkhouses. We will have plenty of variety and if your wrestler has any special dietary needs please let us know.

Luggage

All kids are allowed just 3 pieces of luggage ONLY! Each athlete gets a 3′ x 2′ x 2′ storage shelf and all suitcases/bags must fit into this area.  Any wrestler with luggage that doesn’t fit in the storage area will need to unpack their items and parents will need to take the extra luggage home.  We must keep our floors cleared for emergency exits, no bags on the floor.  Thanks for understanding.

Female Wrestlers

We are more than happy to have female wrestlers at our camps and hope to see the numbers grow enough to one day make an all-girl camp option feasible.  Due to our barracks style accommodations, we do not currently have housing space dedicated for girls.  In order to help encourage girls in our sport we offer a $35 commuter discount for girls to help off-set the hotel fees incurred for commuting for our two-day camp and $70 off for our three-day camp.  To apply the discount enter GIRL02  or GIRL03 in the coupon code box that applies to the correct camp option (2 day or 3 day).
