I have traveled a tough but extremely rewarding path so far in my wrestling career. After starting my Freshman season late due to a football injury, I struggled to build a .500 varsity record. I worked hard that off-season to improve to a 17-7 record my Sophomore year, before suffering a season-ending injury at the Eric Lewis Invitational in early January 2013. After fully recovering, I worked on improving my strength and conditioning, wrestled an average of 4-5 days per week in the off-season, attended two camps, competed for Team Missouri in the Developmental Division at the Disney Scholastic Duals, and competed in multiple local tournaments between my Sophomore and Junior years. During my Junior year season, I served as my team’s co-captain and finished with a 39-7 record. Along the way, I defeated some very talented wrestlers, earned 2nd place in Missouri’s Class 3 District 2 tournament, and qualified for the State Tournament.

During my recently-completed Senior season, hard work and excellent coaching helped me realize some of my goals in the great sport of wrestling. In April 2014, I took 5th place in a very deep bracket at the Ohio Tournament of Champions. Over the summer of 2014, I went 5-4 at the AAU Scholastic Duals as part of Team Ozark STL Bolt (District All-Star Division) against some of the best high school talent in the nation. I made further progress by taking the 152 lb Championship at the Blue Chip Fall Brawl at Staley High School in September 2014. Again serving as my team’s co-captain, I finished my high school season with a 43-5 record and was able to place 4th in an extremely tough bracket in the Class 3 Missouri State High School Championship.

Outside of wrestling, I serve as a band leader and lead trombone in Chaminade’s band.  I am finishing my fourth year of studying Chinese and spent 10 days in Taiwan as part of a class trip last summer. In February 2015, I was notified that I have been awarded a 3-year Army ROTC scholarship for college.

I am passionate about wrestling and am determined to compete collegiately.  I am a very hard worker and will continue to commit myself to constant improvement and success on the next level.
