Medal Count Criteria
The Purler Wrestling Academy Medal Count is a compilation of our State and National medalists since PWA began on November 1, 1999. It includes State medalists from the USA Missouri State Championships as well as the Illinois, Iowa, and Kansas State Championships. It includes both youth and high school PWA members. With so many tournaments nowadays claiming to be ‘NATIONALS’, there is some discrepancy among wrestlers, parents, and coaches regarding which meets qualify for All-American honors.  For Purler Wrestling, we keep the standards high and, unlike most others, we do not count every tournament in the US that has the word ‘Nationals’ in it since most are simply local events that draw a few out-of-staters.  The Purler Wrestling Medal Count includes the following youth and high school 'National Events'.

YOUTH
Cliff Keen Kickoff Classic, Tulsa Nationals, USA Nationals (Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco-Roman), Ohio Tournament of Champions, Reno Worlds, USGWA (girls) Nationals and NHSCA Folkstyle. The All-American Medal Count DOES NOT include every tournament that has the word NATIONAL in it. Only the above National Events are counted.

HIGH SCHOOL
Cadet Nationals, Fila-Cadet Nationals, Junior Nationals, Fila-Junior Nationals, and High School Folkstyle Nationals (Senior Nationals).

*Our state medal count does not include MO/IL State Freestyle/Greco-Roman events.
